For Sale: 1961 Volkswagen 1200 Beetle

For sale: a beautiful and rare 1961 Volkswagen 1200 Beetle in Beryll Green. This classic VW was sold on November 2, 1961, by the VW Pfister dealership to Mr. Frankenberger, a tram conductor from Würzburg. Mr. Frankenberger drove this Beetle to work daily, and the car faithfully served him for many years.

After 18 years of reliable service, this vw bug was parked in the garage in 1979 and has not been driven since. The odometer reads just 5,000 km, which may seem unlikely, but 105,000 km is highly plausible given the interior condition of the car.

As for the condition: the original interior is still in excellent shape, with the door panels and seat covers looking pristine. Some welding work is required, but it’s relatively simple to restore and will bring the car back to top form.

Its original documentation is amazing: from the original parking permit of Mr. Frankenberger to the purchase invoice from November 1961, the service booklet, various fuel and maintenance invoices, and even the spare keys with the original keychains from VW Dealer Pfister. It’s truly a dream for any collector!

This is an unmolested car that just needs some care and attention to bring it back to life.
