For sale: a stylish and characterful 1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé, finished in a beautiful baby blue color with a dark blue roof.
This Karmann Ghia was fully restored in 2019 by an enthusiast, with great attention to detail and preservation of originality. The result is a very attractive classic with no rust issues, a solid and healthy chassis, and an excellent driving experience.
Under the rear lid is the 1300cc F-engine (44 hp), providing smooth and reliable performance. The car drives exactly as it should and is in good mechanical condition.
The interior is a true highlight:
- Beautifully and correctly upholstered seats
- Tight and clean headliner
- Nicely finished dashboard
- Equipped with a period-correct Blaupunkt radio
All chrome parts are in excellent condition, adding to the car’s elegant appearance. The paint looks good overall, but it is not in showroom condition. Good enough for a VW but not good for a Ferrari :).
Why the 1966 Karmann Ghia is special
1966 is an important transitional year for the Karmann Ghia, combining classic early styling with several technical improvements:
- 1300cc engine: more powerful than the earlier 1200cc units
- Ball joint front suspension: more modern, lower maintenance, and improved handling
- Interior updates: including revised dashboard trim and horn ring
- Unique wheels: 5-lug wheels with ventilation holes and flat hubcaps (specific to 1966)
- Door-mounted mirrors: replacing the earlier “swan-neck” fender mirrors
This Karmann Ghia comes with Dutch registration.
Before delivery, the car will receive a full technical inspection, making it ready to drive and enjoy.
In short: a beautiful, honest, and great-driving classic – ready to get in and enjoy! Worldwide delivery can be arranged.
