This 1961 VW Beetle comes in the classic black (L41) color and still retains most of its first paint. It comes from Sweden – and as many enthusiasts know, Swedish cars are often among the best preserved and most original examples out there.
1961 was a special year for the VW bug, full of updates:
- The first year with the 34 DIN hp / 40 SAE hp engine
- No more semaphore turn signals
- But still with the charming small, oval-shaped taillights
In our estimation, this car is unwelded and highly original. A true time capsule – not a patchwork project, but a Beetle that has simply aged gracefully, just as it left the factory. What you see is exactly what you get – no hidden surprises.
The chassis and the underside of the heater channels are in remarkably good condition. Inside, you’ll find the completely original interior: seats, carpet, mats, and headliner – all as delivered in 1961. Naturally, there are signs of use, but that’s part of the charm of a car with authentic patina.
